The unique and innovative flash memory architecture 3D V-NAND from Samsung is a technological breakthrough that overcomes the density, performance and endurance limits of traditional planar NAND architecture.

Made by stacking 32 layers of cells vertically instead of reducing cell size and fitting into a fixed horizontal space, the 3D V-NAND increases density and performance while limiting its footprint.

Thanks to technology TurboWrite from Samsung, you get optimal read and write performance and as a result, you maximize your day-to-day computing use. In addition to a user experience 10% faster than the 840 EVO , you also get up to 1.9x faster random write speeds.

This is also valid for the 120/250 GB models. 850 EVO offers the best performance in terms of read (540MB/s) and write (520MB/s) speeds sequential. Additionally, you get optimized random performance for all queue depths when using a client PC.

Accelerate your performance anytime with the software Samsung Magician who offers the QUICK mode for 2x faster data processing at the system level. To do this, it uses the PC's free memory (DRAM) as cache storage.

While the maximum memory usage in RAPID mode was 1 GB in the previous version of the 840 EVO, the new Magician increases it to 4GB in the 850 EVO thanks to the application of 16 GB DRAM memory. You also double your performance in all random queue depths.

With twice the TBW compared to the previous generation 840 EVO, the 850 EVO offers guaranteed endurance and reliability backed by an industry-leading 5-year warranty. THE 850 EVO increases its continuous performance up to 30 % more than those of the 840 EVO thanks to minimal performance degradation. This makes it one of the most reliable storage devices.

THE 850 EVO dramatically increases your laptop's battery life with a controller optimized for 3D V-NAND . This controller now activates the Device Sleep function for a very low consumption of 2 mW. Thanks to the fact that 3D V-NAND consumes half the power of 2D Planar NAND, the 850 EVO now consumes 25% less power than the 840 EVO during write operations.

AES 256 AND DYNAMIC THERMAL GUARD

The 850 EVO is hardened with the latest full disk hardware encryption engine. AES 256-bit encryption technology protects your data without degrading performance. This technology complies with TCG's Opal 2.0 standards. It is also compatible with the Microsoft e-drive IEEE1667 protocol for permanent protection of your data.

The 850 EVO 's Dynamic Thermal Guard protection constantly monitors and maintains an ideal drive temperature so that it can operate in optimal conditions and ensure the integrity of your data.
